IRDO: Conclusions of the International Conference on Social Responsibility
This year, the 15th International Science and Business Conference, organised by our National Partner Organisation IRDO, focused on Personal and Social Responsibility for a Sustainable Future.
Stefan Crets, CSR Europe Executive Director, contributed to the conversation by explaining the importance of business collaboration to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Here the key takeaways:
Sustainability requires an holistic approach;
Political decision-making is vital to achieve sustainable development;
Start-ups and youth play key part in achieving the SDGs;
Corporate Tax should be a central element of CSR;
New sustainable business models should be based on human rights;
After calling for an overarching sustainable Europe 2030 strategy, CSR Europe is now inviting businesses, industry federations and policymakers across Europe to scale-up and incubate sector and cross-sector collaborations in framework of the European Pact for Sustainable Industry.
Only by joining forces, it will be possible to:
Protect people’s health, families, jobs, environment, and climate
Increase the resilience of enterprises and support new forms of leadership, entrepreneurship and sustainable finance that creates value to society
Achieve the UN SDGs
